Track and Field Day

I took the girls up to Greg's track and field day for his school.  It was our first day out in the hot sun for the season and I think we were all heat exhausted by the evening but it was nice to get out of the house.  Track and field day was a huge event when I was in elementary school.  Everyone in shorts and running shoes, parents there, ribbons, coolers of cold drinks and treats.  Half these kids were in their normal shoes, cowboy boots and dresses or hoodies and jeans.  What has happened to track and field days?  Anyway the girls had fun with dad.

This is called "High as the Sky" and Allie would have her daddy do it all day if she could.

 Brailie was not so sure but since Allie was doing it she wanted to to.

Dads and Doughnuts

On Friday March 18 Greg's school had dads and doughnuts and camo day.  Dads and doughnuts is where the dads can come to school with their kids, eat doughnuts and then read them stories for a few minutes.  The truth is it is more like the dads come, eat the doughnuts, b.s. with eachother for a while and read with their kids for about 5 minutes, but it is a good idea.  I was at a shower the Saturday before when a girl sitting beside me said she didn't have any camo for her kids to wear.  It dawned on me that neither did I.  So I asked Greg if he had an old camo shirt (which he has about 30 of) and he donated one to the cause and I whipped up some skirts for the girls.

This was dads and doughnuts a year ago.  We look extremely tired and look at how small Brai is.

Now they are getting bigger and cuter in their camo.

Daddy's first day of school

It is official-school has begun for another year. We are sad to have daddy gone so many hours everyday but we do like to be able to go for walks to visit him, help in his class and go to baseball and basketball games. And it is really fun to hide when he is coming home so we can jump out and yell, "SURPRISE." Have a great year daddy. We love you.

Greg's Classroom

Since we have been married I have been helping Greg get his classroom ready for school. Lets face it- Elementary school is just a ton funner than High School as far as the cuteness factor goes. This year he wanted to do a melon theme. This is the bulletin board I put together outside his classroom. Each child has a slice of watermelon on a plate.

Seriously, I think I have found my dream job in Green River UT-Bulletin board/party decorator for the Elementary school. Well for the whole town-the whole town could use a spruce up. I love this kind of stuff. If I could get paid to do it-what a dream job.
