Fishing Trip with Dad and Grandpa

Greg decided that he wanted to take the girls on a fishing trip up to the La Sals by Moab with his dad.  I told him I thought he was braver than I was but he was sure it would be fine and the girls were so excited.  Actually when they go places with just their dad they are amazingly awesome.  It is probably because he is much more relaxed than me.
Me waiting for Grandpa to arrive.  I decided to post it because I actually look good in a picture Greg took of me.

The girls waiting for Grandpa to come.

The best part of the trip-the snacks.

Both girls caught a fish but after only a few minutes decided that they didn't want to fish any more.  They just wanted to pretend fish and eat snacks by Grandpa.  I am sure they talked his ear off.  Greg said they were so incredibly good.

More snacks.

Sneaking another snack.

Proof that the snacks were good and Brailie was worn out.

Can you say bedraggled?

One more chip face.

And even after a long day of fishing they still had huge smiles.  I think it was a big success.  Oh and it was cause the men caught almost 75 fish between the two of them.

On the way home pics by my hubby.  Aren't they great?

Fishing in Monroe and the big catch

While in Monroe the dad's took the kids fishing.  Allie is in love with fishing-she was so excited.  Brailie fell asleep on the way home from out picnic so she didn't make it on this trip but she is in love with fishing too.  This was Allie's lucky fishing trip.

Kids Fishing Day

A few weeks ago they had kids fishing day at the golf course.  We took the girls down to try and catch a fish.  May I mention that this is the 3rd fishing attempt with Allie.  I thought I would go to take pictures.  I should have just stayed home.  The girls would have been fine with daddy, and I wouldn't have had to be stressed about them falling in the pond.  Brailie thought that you were supposed to throw everything in the pond and nearly threw her pole in 3 too many times.  And in the end we didn't even catch a single thing.  I remember the first time my dad took me fishing.  It was in our old wooden boat with our super old life jackets.  I believe my friend Brandy came along.  He must have prayed something terrible that it would be a success because we caught fish after fish and I fell in love with the sport and went many times over the remaining years of my time at home.  I loved fishing.  I am thankful that Allie has not given up even though she doesn't know what it feels like to catch a fish.  I can't wait until the day she does.
She has good form.

Brai's first time holding a pole on her own.

Lucky for us the unsuccessfulness of fishing was erased with a free doughnut.

Who even remembers that we didn't have a nibble?
