The Cousins are here

The cousins are here-yipee!!!!! That means that not only is the house major chaos, the couches are getting well used for jumping and flipping and we have just barely enough room to all fit around the table but it also means....
 Sledding!!!!
Here is Uncle Daniel running along side to make sure the sled stays on course.
Uncle Daniel with his boys Jakob and Andrew
Brai being her usual timid self and not wanting to try out the sledding so she hung out with the photographer
Allie went with Auntie Jenny and then declared, "I pretty much have to do that again."
Uncle Daniel and the boys drive the 4-wheeler to pull the sled back up the hill (oh how this would have been so helpful back when we were kids).
I took this picture upside down of Brai clinging to my leg.
Cute camo marshmallows.  I have no idea who is who.  I am a terrible Aunt.
One more taken upside down and between my legs.
And lastly here is Brai back in the truck with her crazy touque hair (touque is our term for a winter hat-who knows how to spell it).

Some Real Snow

Now that we are in Canada the girls have got the chance to experience some real snow-including all the tons of gear one must put on to go out in the real snow.  What a pain.  Kudos to all the winter moms out there that do this regularly.  Kudos to my own mom for doing it with three and then lugging us all over the creation.
This big orange sled is actually a calf sled that my dad had from our cattle days.  It works perfectly though for pulling the kids around.
The weird looking mittens are due to the fact that we don't own any good snow mittens and the stores are charging WAY too much money for a pair.  We just wear our little ones and a pair of Grammy's on top.
Modeling the snow pants for our second outing in the snow.
This hat was for the snowman we made.  Brai looks adorable in it.
 This way too.
The girls and mom made a snowman and by "the girls" I mean they sat on the snow bank and barked orders and mom rolled all over the yard for their personal winter experience.  We call him the hunter snowman for daddy.
Garden tools double nicely as snow tools in a pinch.

Out in the cold.

It snowed.  In Canada it would be a shame to even call what we had "snow" but for us it was a "big storm."  The girls were excited to play in it.  I was sure it would all be gone by the time it was noon so I decided to bundle them up and take them out in the morning before breakfast.  We don't even have good winter weather clothes so I am glad there wasn't a bunch of snow-the girls would have been so cold.

They even got a sled ride.

Allie was knocking ice off this fence and Brailie was checking it out too and we almost had a tongue on metal incident with Brailie but I screamed and she topped thank heavens.

She means business

This little girl and her looks.

When we came in they both stood in front of the fire and pulled their panties down to warm up their bums.

We finally go some snow...in the mail that is.

Steven sent us a huge box with our gifts in it for Christmas.  The box was filled with packing peanuts.  When we first opened it I was trying to have the girls help me fill a basket with all the packing peanuts but I quickly realized this was not going to happen, there were just too many and it was impossible so I said "what the heck...have at it" and they did.  NOTE to Uncle Steve, next time save yourself some money and just send a box of packing peanuts and 2 shovels.  We called it snow.

Let it Snow

Allie has been begging for snow and so we finally got some one afternoon.  The girls wanted to go out to play in it even though it was late and I was not really in the mood but we went out anyway.  It was good because the next day Allie was really sick, I had to go to Price to get some last minute things and by the time we got home all the snow was gone.  So we enjoyed it while it lasted.  Allie has still be sick and said she was never going to eat snow again because it made her sick.  We shall see about that.

It SNOWED

We woke up on Wed (Dec 29th) to see a skiff of snow.  We had to go out in it.  I have to say my hat goes off to my Canadian and Montana friends who have to dress their kids in snow gear every single day in the winter just to go anywhere.  I was sweating buckets by the time I had my two dressed.
Brailie didn't know what to think.  The snow was sticking to her boots and her boots were too big so she just stood there.

Allie had to try the snow.  I didn't tell her too but I would have done the same thing as a child.

Brai missed the part about eating the snow and tried her glove instead.

I built a leafy snowman and Allie posed by frosty and sang the song.

Allie was most excited to make snow angels and made about 4 of them.

Then I got the sled and pulled the girls around.  Brailie loved this.

This picture doesn't really show it but she was smiling most of the time.

I love these beautiful snow angels.
