Quotes from Allie
Yesterday I was making dinner and Allie was standing beside me on a chair and I saw that it had a bunch of red crayon marks all over the back of it and I said to her, "Who drew all over this chair with a crayon," and she kept going about her business and said, "Um Daddy."
Free Fishing Day Sept 11th
Sept 11th they had free fishing day at the golf course for all the kids. Brailie was sleeping so Greg took Allie down. He told her they were going to get ready to go and she instantly started singing the chorus to "Fishing in the Dark" which Greg taught her months ago. He said she sang it all the way to the park.
Here she is reeling in her line.

To say that some days are hectic and hairy would be an understatement with two little kids and I am not sure what I am doing with myself or my children most days (but trying my best of course) and I have no idea why anyone would want to have a bunch of children all a year or so apart unless they are CRAZY!!!! But the big pay off is that as these two get older we hope they will be the best of friends. This was a little glimpse of the future for me.

Since our lovely little Green River offers ZERO in the form of toddler entertainment I have come to rely heavily on this park and actually quite love the fact that not many others do. I take my girls there nearly every day and usually there is no one else there and I think Allie is actually beginning to think it belongs to her (which may not be good). It would be fun if a few of the other kids her age were there once in a while for her to play with because she doesn't have that chance very often but nonetheless I have to have somewhere to go to get out of my house so we head to the park.
And this is Allie's swing (as she calls it). One time we went and there was another kid on her swing-she was not a happy camper. I told her it was every ones swing and she would have to share. She was okay with that.

Sometimes all the stars align on Sunday mornings and Allie actually lets me do her hair in curlers and on this particular Sunday she even let me put in a couple of curls with the curling iron (the next day she had a complete melt down when I tried) and I had a good feeling that every drop of curl would be gone by the time we were home from church so we hurried and got some pictures before we left and she even posed for us. What a lucky morning.

Allie at the piano
Another one of my sweet daughters performances- only she is not as cooperative this time. Still cute though.
In the garden
We always have these giant volunteer sunflowers growing in our garden. This year I planted some along one edge. They are beautiful but they only stand tall for a little while. Here is one of our tallest.
This year I planted a border of Zinneas along one edge of our garden as well. I love Zinneas. They are so colorful and pretty. They are easy to grow and you can save their seeds to replant the next year.

It's pretty much a miracle that with me as a mother Allie even knows what make-up is. On average I put on mascara everyday that is about it-sometimes more on Sundays or when we go out of town or I am to be seen in public. So when I am putting on make-up Allie always asks if she can too. She used to just play with the brushes and stuff but this day she got the eye shadow open and started getting glammed up.

More random pics
A couple more random pictures.
Getting wood
We are prepping for winter in the Parsons household and therefore took another trip to the mountains to get wood (this time with Greg's new chainsaw). We had a little picnic and the girls and I played while Greg did all the hard work.
Here is our picnic in the truck
Enjoying a cucumber and spicy chips
Munching on a Cheeto
Greg in action
Thank heavens this new saw cut so much better than the old one. Made the day go by quickly
There was a little mountain stream which I showed Allie. She is into this thing now when ever I show her something little she says, "oh how cute" so that is what she had to say about the stream too.

Just a few pictures of some of the joys of home life.
Here is Brailie after a hearty meal of pinto beans. She always does a cheese for the camera. She is quite the squawker at meal time. If the food is not coming fast enough she will let you know.
The new favorite family activity-singing and playing the piano (sometimes with kids on my lap and sometimes they sing and dance)
Isn't she cute in a baseball cap? She hates hats, hair bows and everything on her head. What will I do when she actually has some hair. This is right before our almost daily walk to the park.
