Here is one more video left over from the Grammy visit.  I came into the kitchen one evening because I could hear squealing and laughing and this is what I found going on.  Bless my mom.  She was such a great play mate for the girls.  We miss her.

Grandma Connie turns 80

Actually she turned 80 on November 2nd but we went to her party on November 13th in Monroe. 

Look at that spunky Great Grandma

 Grandpa Verle-reserved, and calm.  These two are the Grandparents I never had.  My Grandma (Baba in Ukrainian) died when I was 11 and I was very close to her but I never knew either of my Grandpas and my moms mom lived in Arizona and I wasn't close to her.  So Grandma Connie and Grandpa Verle are just what I was missing for all these years.

 I tried a new hairdo idea for Allie and it turned out so cute and curly.  This is in the car.  I asked her to smile.  She opened her mouth.

 A bit of a better look at the hair.  We got to the party and Allie went into "I'm shy, I will not cooperate mode."  I love it when she does that.

 I love this series of pictures.  I had to include them all.  I was trying to get a group picture.  I love the crazy faces.  Perfectly captures these little personalities.

 One of the best parts of the party-the every famous Frappe and the most delicious cake.  We all ate heartily on both. 

We love you Grandma Connie.  We hope for many more birthdays.

Last pictures from Grammy's Visit

I am trying to get caught up on family events.  These are the last of the pictures and videos from Grammy's visit.  She is gone now.  She went home on the 13th of November.  Allie woke up the next morning and ran through the living room to the kitchen and then stopped and went back the living room where Grammy had been sleeping and said, "where's Grammy?"  I said, "Remember she had to go home."  She said, "I want her to come back."  We had a blast while she was here.

 Here is Allie doing puzzles too.  They had such a blast together.  I think my mom sparked some new immagination in Allie and creative play ideas.  They were always together laughing and rolling on the floor or doing something crazy.  What a great chance for them to bond.  Allie can't wait to call her on the phone now.

 Here is our attempt to get some good pictures together of the girls.  However the "girls" were so cranky and so we weren't too successful. 

Where's your tongue?

We don't want our blog to be overrun with Allie videos so I thought I would add in this one of Brailie sticking out her tongue.  It is one of her newest activities.  She loves to try and imitate any sound you make with your mouth especially animal sounds and clicking sounds.  One more new thing is that there are some things that sound like words coming out of her mouth.  We have: cup, yes, juice and swing.  Of course to the non-mommy ear they probably sound like nothing but I can tell what they mean (sometimes).

Family Home Evening

This took place during Family Home Evening when Allie took over.  I think most of this went on because I had the camera and was taking a video so she was performing just a bit extra.  Apparently she really loves the Bible.

The Beach

On Sat November 6th we had an afternoon together as a family and so I said to Greg, "lets seize this chance and go to the beach one last time for a cookout." It was just perfect.  There was no one there and the minute we got there Allie took off her shoes and socks and dove into the sand.  The girls had a blast and the cookout was delicious.

As Allie said this morning, "Brailie is my best sister and I love her."

I told Allie to sit on this log and I would take her picture.  She immediately started fidgeting and fell over backwards.  I laughed but she didn't think it was funny.

Playing with Grammy

We have had so much fun playing with Grammy.  She is leaving us now this weekend and we will miss her.  She is so good to play pretend with Allie.  They play people's, shopping, farm, school bus.  She has been on the floor rolling around, playing tag, up and down and around the house.  My mom has been such a good sport.  And any time my mom refers to herself as Grandma Allie says, "no-you're not Grandma.  You are Grammy."

There's Moroni

On Nov 5th we took the opportunity to go to the temple in Monticello.  My mom came along and took the girls to the park while Greg and I did a session.  After we found a little restaurant to have some pizza which had this statue in the corner.  We were sitting at our table and Allie pointed to the statue and said, "look it's Moroni."

Brailies 1 year check up

I took Brai in to have her 1 year check up and here are her stats:

Height: 29.5 which is the 50th percentile

Weight: 19.4lbs which is the 25th percentile

That means she is slightly bigger than Allie was at a year. Everything about her checked out perfectly. The doctor asked if I had any questions and I said "nope" (so much different than with your first isn't it?). I told him I was worried earlier on because she seemed so hyper active but now she seems to be mellowing out so I wasn't as concerned. Some great things about Brailie are:

-her beautiful blue eyes

-her happy smile

-her almost white wispy hair

-her little scrunched up faces she makes

-watching her walk all over the place

-she loves to give hugs and kisses

-she loves and hates to be held all at the same time. One time she wants you to hold her but as soon as you do she wants to be put down.

-she loves to be outside

-she is very observant and knows exactly what she wants

-she is a really good-fast-eater

-she loves her big sister and gets so excited every time she sees her

We love out Brailie and are so happy she is in our family.
